Only tuner I would ever buy

Install was nothing, too easy. Adjusting function on the fly is awesome. No more plugging tuners in OBD and adjusting to different tunes. Showing tune that you're in on the display is genius. Only tuner I would buy. Power gains are very noticeable even with everything still stock except exhaust

2015 Ram Bighorn - Got this a few days ago - I LOVE IT! Had just done a Corsa catback, K&N cold air and lifted 2.5" w/ 35x12.5 yokos on stock rims. THIS was the best improvement of all!! Extremely well made , easy to install and the in-cabin selectability of tune levels is awesome. I also adjusted wheel size for speedo accuracy. It really wakes this truck up and made it really fun to drive. It feels like the truck lost about 1500lbs the way the pedal response and and extra HP work together. Can also hear a difference in exhaust note between stock and performance tune. I was skeptical as I'm not a big 'chip' fan but now that I have it, this is a no-brainer. BUY IT!!

Got mine a week ago certified refurbished from Edge at a reasonable price, installed it same day, took me about 25min and boom!!! work flawless and thank god I can disable the mds once and for all. My 2015 Ram is alive, the throttle response is awesome and in performance mode you can really tell that this thing works. You must have 91 or plus octane gas for performance mode. I enjoyed the week with a full tank of 93 gas from Shell and man I had a ton of fun in performance mode.I just filled up with 89 octane gas from Shell and still, in tow mode which you can run with 89 octane gas is amazing. Recommended to anyone looking to really add hp to the Ram.

Works Well - PITA To Update

I've got around 7K miles on my Pulsar now, very pleased w/ the performance gain. That said, I just learned I have to ship the Pulsar back to Edge to take advantage of the new software update. It's a 5 minute flash via USB to OBDII port w/ a laptop... if you have the needed cable. Some owners were contacted by Edge for beta testing of the new software & were supplied w/ the cable. Unfortunately for the rest of us, Edge is requiring owners to ship their Pulsars back for the update. For what is being charged for this product, the cable should be provided to customers or at the very least, offered for purchase. I do not want to ship the unit back every time an update is released. Please Edge, reconsider this policy as it is highly inconvenient & impractical.

I read alot of reviews on the pulsar, but still wasn't quite prepared for the actual road test. After programming it, I of course set it on 8 and idled out of the garage after turning off traction control as well. After straightening the wheel, I gave it the same amount of throttle that I normally would to take off. Oops. The rear end came out from underneath me and put me a bit sideways. My first thought was what in the heck went wrong? It was like my pedal was all or nothing. After driving a few blocks, I couldn't get the smile from my face. Took some getting used to as far as finesse goes with the gas pedal. Throttle response was sick. Definitely more fun to drive now. In addition to that, I burned one tank of premium fuel on economy MDS off and averaged 14. 1 MPG. In the city! Impressive. Cant wait to hook up the boat and head down to the gorge just to pull it back up in tow mode. Two thumbs way up and 5 stars.

Make sure you spray the connecter slides with some lubricant and blow them out with an air compressor lightly to make sure the clips go all the way down to release the connectors if they won’t release. Otherwise noticeable power gain but not so much fuel mileage.

The tuner really does unleash the beast in your 5.7L HEMI engine. No removal of your PCM is necessary, and it should bolt on easy. I say should because the factory PCM clips on my truck were stuck. You really need to be careful with the red switches, possibly spraying some penetrating oil on the blue and green sliders first. I broke one of the red plastic switches, and really had to muscle the sliders down with a small screw driver. The sliders don’t just unlock the PCM connectors, the disconnect them as well. This is why they are so tough to remove. Once I had them off the Pulsar went on in 2 minutes. So easy. Check out all the modes, as I find it best to drive in ECO mode. When Performance mode is engaged, I can hardly stop the wheels from spinning :)

The Pulsar Programmer, 4” lift, and 35” tires were installed this past week. Even with the larger tires, there is a dramatic increase in performance. The site says 15hp but the edge video says 30rwhp. In performance mode, it definitely feels more like 30rwhp. I don’t think it’s just throttle response either, the midrange and all around power are dramatically better. The programmer provides a very noticeable performance increase. Even in performance mode, the fuel mileage was good. I was cruising at 22-25 even with the bigger M/Ts. I'll be purchasing the cold air intake next! Thanks EDGE!

Have had it now for two weeks and it performs great until it starts turning my truck off when I come to a stop occasionally. Also sometimes cant get out of first gear when in eco mode! I dont understand why is does it but once your engine light turns on all the problems start to occur. Dont get me wrong when its running correctly its great but when it starts cutting off at stop signs its a problem!

I purchased this module a couple of weeks ago. Took about 10 minutes to install, and ever since i have been 100% satisfied! If you are contemplating this purchase..DO IT! I have owned almost every tuner on the market for different vehicle i have owned, and this one is right at the top for function and fun. I have a cold air, throttle body spacer, and a Flow master muffler (outlaw sound level), and let me tell you, the throttle response and exhaust note is noticeably improved. Mileage improved on the hi-way for sure.

I am on my 4th pulsar for my truck. 1st one worked great but kept throwing check engine codes every other day removed it and truck ran fine called and got my money back. 2nd one kept getting emails that it was “completely overhauled” new design so I ordered another thinking they fixed the bugs worked fine also no check engine light but would not perform all the features it had like disable the mds I called and asked for a replacement, no problem 3rd one arrives Is the old style pulsar but I install it anyways and nothing whatsoever works with it no options to change modes nothing at all. They know ram fine but didn’t have any options to switch modes. I called and requested a refund by this time I’m fed up and ready to give up on the pulsar or edge products entirely, but hey convinced me to let them try and send another one and double checked all my year make model truck and sent a other one 4th one “pending arrival”

Bought this product because of the lack of need to send off my PCM for reprogramming. Works great and install was a breeze. Had it on and running in about 20 mins. Fuel mileage has gone up 2 mpg since installing and the added responsiveness is no joke! Would definitely recommend this to someone looking for a little added power for little effort and relatively low cost.

I’v allways had tuners , bolt ons and gizmos on all my cars and trucks and now i just baught this for my 2017 hemi 1500 . I installed 35 in tires . Full body 4 inch lift kit and flowmaster exhaust and kNn intake and this piggy back tuner does everything i expected and so much more ! Econo when i wana be conservative” very fiew times now that i actualy love driving my truck lol” and towing when pulling my sleds and trailers “ and of course the agressive powerband mode . Now thats where i realized wow ,... so THIS IS WHAT A HEMI IS SUPPOSE TO FEEL LIKE . Guys ! Don’t even put it up for debate ! This is by far the best tuner for a hemi out there hands down 10/10 satisfied !

I purchased this while it was on sale just before Christmas. While installing I followed their advice and instructions and it was a simple and smooth install! The product was very solid and well built too. I then adjusted the tire size and input the gear ratio. Once programmed stock mode felt stock and performance seemed to have a definite advance while running and spinning the rear tires was very easy. And I have 22” rims with 35” tires! So far I am extremely pleased!

Returned second day of owning it, power level was impressive but does not shut off MDS. It surges the throttle every time the mds tries to kick on to keep it from kicking on. Very annoying and jerky. Save yourself some time and get a diablosport trinity with unlocked PCM,

I have a 2018 ram 1500 sport. I bought the PULSAR and the OBD update cable. Figured out that yes, the update cable works on the 2018’s despite having a non-oem bock on the OBD port. Installation was easy, and figured I would check for updates right away. The instructions say to download “IGNITION FOR PC” though that does not exists on their site. Figured out it was replaced by “Update Agent 1.0”. Installed it, plugged it in, and it errored out right away. After turning the ignition to run, it worked fine, which the instructions don’t tell you, though it makes sense. When it was done, it was up to date, so they must update them before shipping them out. Over all, I like it. Easiest way to disable the MDS, and it really wakes up in the tow and performance tunes. I have very little time with it so far, but I really like it. Also look forward to what updates come down the road.

I was unsure of the pulsar at first but I must say the power gain of this thing is night and day, I have a 2018 ram 1500 st 5.7l hemi and I do have some upgrades to it like a 6 inch rough country lift kit, cat back flowmaster outlaw exhaust, s&b cold air intake, 90mm throttle body and I went with the ngk iridium spark plugs and noticed a performance difference but when I put the pulsar on ya it is a night and day difference I am vary pleased so worth the money.

I have had many tuners and my different vehicles over the years. I found most of the tuners work very well in my diesel turbo charge vehicle or my Ford eco-boost turbo charge vehicles. Well this was much to my surprise I was just looking to get just a little bit better gas mileage and maybe a little performance boost. Wow change on the fly while driving for all the modes amazing. Did the update to the unit so I can make adjustments for May under size tires I have on my vehicle worked flawlessly got the transmission shifting right now. Gas mileage in a canna me or tell mode if I keep my foot out of it and just drive normal has went up 3 miles to the gallon my truck is averaging 18.6 mpg and I do 75% to 80% city driving. This has been on my truck for three weeks now and I really run it in anything other than economy or towel and I do shut off the MDS so it is always using eight cylinders. Edge I look forward to any updates you have again because this thing is amazing in all it’s going to do is get better I highly recommended this to Ram hemi owners you will not be disappointed I would give this 9.5 out of 10 and I would not do that was a normal gas tuner and a vehicle. I have no modifications no air intake the exhaust is stock. I really don’t see were changing those items would really add any performance gains other than what you see already with the edge pulsar.

I have a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 that has a 4” lift and 35” tires. My son bass fishes competitively through out the country and I wanted that little extra power and hopefully a little better fuel mileage. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. I was able to adjust my axle size, tire size and I defiantly saw a difference in power. Around town I also do and increase in fuel economy.

I bought product and it arrived very fast. It was not very hard to install the Allen wrench bolts were hard to tighten. The edge is very well made and worked great. On performance level the truck was a little jumpy. Plenty of pickup well worth the money. Would buy again. Thx edge

Installed this in my 2017 Ram Big Horn this week. I’ve tuned many diesels and gassers and this has been by far the easiest install and instant noticeable results. Even eco mode is nice when I just want to cruise around town. Tow mode is perfect for my daily driving and performance mode is definitely fun. I have 37’s on my truck so I can’t wait to see what updates they provide for changing tire sizes etc. It could be in my head but I swear my transmission shifts smoother since installation as well. Love it! Low risk, warranty in tact, not messing with the pcm, noticeable results and easy install. Get one!

I have been doing Economic mods to my Ram 1500 and this is by far the best one so far. Talk about bang for your buck! It takes no time to install and you can feel the difference on your first pull. I also bought the obdII to USB cable so only time will tell how easy it is to update on my own.

i bought the pulsar on saturday at the ultimate offroad show in dallas. it installed in 10 mins and as soon as i left the parking lot the truck was a completely different truck. the throttle response in performance mode is awesome and after a 3 hour drive home from the truck show was alot of fun. this product is everything they are advertising and excited to see any updates that come.

I don’t know how people can dog this. Even in Stock MDS off I notice a major difference in quality of shifting and idle. Install can be quite tricky. If you off road make sure to clean the connectors as the sliders on the PCM lock can get seized due to dirt. My only complaint is there should be a sport mode between stock and performance mode. Performance is a bit much for what I’m looking for. Something in the sweet spot there would be nice. Otherwise. Awesome product so far. 2 thumbs up.

2017 Ram 4x4. Everything is stock except the muffler delete. I installed the Pulsar in 10 minutes, no airbox removal needed. Already filled up on 93 octane. Not my first performance tuner either. I switched to performance mode and did a 360 barely touching the gas pedal compared to stock. I love the on fly power switching, no waiting 5 minutes to change tunes and it all works on stock equipment. Win-Win for me. I can say this is an eye opener and the performance will throw you into the seat. I love it!!!!!!!

Dollar for dollar a great product. Performance mode, fuel saving modes work great. Only had minor issue with level indicator flickering after first week of operation. I spoke with customer service and im hoping for resolution soon. I would reccomend so far.

Simply the best tuner available for the RAM

I'm so glad I bought this for my 18 Ram. I can finally turn off that horrible MDS. I use the Economy W/ MDS OFF setting the most and I get the same MPG now that I did when it was stock and I dont have to worry about dropping a valve. When I tow my backhoe around I use the TOW W/ MDS OFF setting and it really helps pull the hills. I have only used the Performance setting once. It was really amazing how much it woke the truck up but I use my truck for towing and driving long distance, so I dont use Performance much. One thing i'd like to point out is that this is NOT the same thing as a pedal commander. I see people on the forums and FB pages saying that they're the same. I've tried both and this is a much better and feature rich product. Plus you dont have that ugly brick mounted to your dash that the PC requires.

this thing will set you free. a little tricky getting through the menu at start up but since has worked great . picks up the lag in the throttle response for sure. be careful switching to power mode it will take off. install on truck was simple. great product so far on truck about 1 month.

I have owned many edge products for gas and diesel trucks and was always impressed with the diesel products but the gas products fell short. Until now. The pulsar was the single best purchase I have made for my ram. There is a noticeable difference in performance and even in level 8 I’ve gotten 1mpg more. A+++ to you guys and can’t wait for the custom tuning!

I ordered the Pulsar tuner for my 2017 Ram Rebel over a month ago since I was in Afghanistan at the time and just yesterday got to install it. The installation was easy with no issues to speak of. I decided to take the truck for a quick spin on the mountain road I live on only to find out that my truck is no longer a truck with a HEMI, but some kind of new fangled Speed Racer. She started up my driveway spinning the rear tires and tore up the road like a Demon on fire and was trying to put it out. I turned around and drove the Rebel back in Stock config in order not to cause a national emergency requiring the Pentagon to call in Intercept fighters. Get this awesome product for your HEMI

Didn’t work for my truck after phone sales rep insisted it would even with my modifications. Wasted a lot time to find out i needed to have the PCM unlocked. Doesn’t work for 2018 1500s as it says.

Had this for over a month now and put on 1500 miles. I installed it along with a K&N cai, ported tb and cat back exhaust. Run setting 8 with 91 octane. The power difference from stock is amazing!! Smoking the eco boosts and runs with the 6.2l Silverado no problem.

If you own a ram with the 5.7 you NEED to have this. its a totally different truck with it. The ability to change the program on the fly is awesome. The install and set up was very fast and easy.

Better than Diablo

Had Diablo/Hemifever for several years but dealer reflashed this last time, like a few times before, and I couldn't get the Diablo to sync up anymore. After emails and phone calls, I have up and got the Pulsar. Installation was fast and performance is right up there with my old Hemifever tune - with smoother transmission shifts. Can't say enough about this for Ram 1500's. Get one.

I've put a few edge products on my diesel trucks which can be time consuming. This one I put on a 2018 ram with the hemi in 2 min. Integrated nicely into the steering wheel controls. Very happy with this.

I coupled my Pulsar with an 87mm throttle body, Caravan intake, ARH long tube headers, and Borla cat-back exhaust. The truck was impressive for power before, but really impresses now! I definitely recommend the Pulsar for all Hemi owners!

Troubles with the Pulsar

I bought this early last year. It worked great for a few months and the started getting a code stating “Service electronic throttle control”. It got so bad, sometimes 2-3 times a day, that I had to replace ECM. Is it possible that it needs to be updated?

I just received my Edge today at work from Amazon. I installed it before I left for the ride home. All I can say is wow! Settings 6 & 8 are where it's at. 8 is what you want for some serious throttle response and pep! And the plus is MDS is now gone if I want!!! Can't wait to play with it more and see how mileage is affected.

Easy to install and works perfectly on my 2017 RAM with the 5.7 Hemi. Love the way you can adjust power levels on the fly with the vehicle’s factory controls. You can feel the instant change of throttle and power as you change the settings. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because you cannot adjust the top speed limit. Most other tuners that are much cheaper has this option I really wish the pulsar was able to adjust the top speed limit.

I am not able to turn off traction control
