INCREASES TIMING

With the Mileage Max (or the “Mileage” setting on the Juice with Attitude or Evolution), the product increases the timing of the fuel delivery. With an advanced timing of fuel delivery, you get a more complete burn. A more complete burn is equivalent to getting more power out of your fuel. This is the first way our products serve to increase fuel economy – by getting more power out of the fuel you already use.

ALLOWS TRUCK TO RUN IN A HIGHER GEAR

When towing or driving up a steep grade, the increased horsepower offered by the Mileage Max, Evolution, or Juice with Attitude allows your truck to run in a higher gear. Running in a higher gear consumes less fuel because you downshift less, which lowers your RPMs. This is why we consider our products to offer the best of both worlds – increased horsepower and improved fuel economy. And, as an added benefit, less downshifting not only means improved fuel economy; it can help to prolong the life of your transmission.

IMPROVED ATOMIZATION (burn efficiency) OF FUEL

Atomization is the process by which a bulk liquid is turned into a spray. Our products improve the atomization of your fuel. We achieve this by increasing fuel pressure, which creates a finer mist. The increased fuel pressure achieved by our performance electronics improves your fuel’s burn efficiency, thereby improving fuel economy by (once again) getting more out of the fuel you use.

DYNO TEST – The Mileage Max was developed and tested by Edge’s engineers using a Mustang dynamometer to duplicate typical driving conditions. Both input and return fuel lines from the test truck were run into a separate tank containing a known quantity of fuel placed on an extremely accurate digital scale. With the truck fully warmed, the truck’s cruise control was set to 70 MPH in overdrive and a constant load applied to simulate highway loads. The weight of the consumed fuel was then subtracted from the original weight and converted into MPG.

Repeated test results showed the Mileage Max consistently delivered up to a 7% improvement in fuel economy (depending on year and model of the vehicle) and up to 35 extra horsepower. In order to ensure accuracy, several tests were performed and an average made with and without the Mileage Max using the same conditions on the same dyno.

ROAD TEST – In order to validate our dyno test, Edge’s engineers also conducted a repeatable road test. The idea of the road test was to calculate MPG of the vehicle stock vs. at a programmed level. Using a test loop of 42 miles, Edge’s engineers took numerous test runs stock and in a programmed level in order to determine the fuel economy benefit of our products under “real world” conditions. Running the route numerous times, the engineers returned each time to exactly the same fueling station where they started, allowing them to refuel the vehicle, record the traveled mileage, calculate fuel consumption, and reset the trip odometer for the next run.

Our engineers picked filling station and a pump they could return to each time and drew a bracket on the ground and on the driver’s side tire to ensure they parked in the same location for the start and finish of each run. They would then fill the tank to a reference point on the filler neck of the truck’s fuel tank that was slightly below the filler neck vent to ensure a repeatable amount of fuel was used. They would then reset the trip odometer and enter the on ramp of the freeway. Paying attention to exact speeds used and throttle habits, the engineers would then accelerate moderately until reaching 55 MPH. They would then set the cruise at 55 MPH and hold that speed until reaching a designated mile marker along the route. At that mile marker, they would then accelerate until reaching 65 MPH until reaching the exit for the turnaround point of the route.

Once the driver exited, he would immediately enter the on ramp of the same freeway to return to the starting point. Accelerating moderately to 65 MPH along the same stretch, they would hold this speed until they reached the same designated mile marker from the opposite side, where they would decelerate to 55 MPH until they reached the freeway exit at the start of the route. They would then drive to the same pump and park in the same bracket to ensure accuracy. They would then record the mileage, fill the tank to the exact reference point in the filler neck, and record the number of gallons used. They would then repeat the cycle three times each in stock mode and in a programmed state. To ensure accuracy, they would take the average of the three runs per cycle (programmed and unprogrammed).

Repeated test results demonstrated an average increase in fuel economy of 7% while using Edge’s products.

I was skeptical of magic boxes that claim they can do miracles. The Mileage Max does everything it is supposed to. If you mash your foot, you feel more power, enough so that on my ’03 I no longer need to power break up to 2000 RPM to get my back tires to get loose; now if i go past 1200 or so, everything goes wild. I have also noticed about 2 or so MPG gain, putting me at 21.8 (hand calculated) mixed city/highway use. I have 3.73 gears and a 48RE tranny, stock 265/70/R17 tires.

How can you beat this deal? Programmer, gauges, and a custom mount. I have run many programmers/chips and Edge’s Evolution is by far the best product out there. Power is unbelievable – it took my 4x4 F-250 0-60 MPH in 7.1 seconds on just the second level. Mileage increased by 3-4 MPG. If you have a 7.3L and are looking for power, mileage, and gauges, this is it.

- Erik B., California, 7.3L Ford Powerstroke

I have had my Edge Juice with attitude for my 2008 F-250 for about a month. I wanted to let everyone know that there is a huge power gain on level 5 and there are no problems with regeneration. My truck has only gone through regeneration once since installation. I run my truck on level 3 most of the time and it provides plenty of power for everyday use. Fuel mileage has gains of 4+ MPG when at normal speeds. I hope others will buy the Edge Juice with Attitude to gain power and mileage as I have.

- Miles C., Oklahoma, 2008 Ford 6.4L Powerstroke
